I went on the Butchart Gardens tour in Victoria and it was a fantastic experience. Our guide René was truly world class, the man is really passionate about what he does and is extremely knowledgeable! He also comes packing with corny jokes.. so be prepared for an earful :) He was even kind enough to drop people off at their hotels who were near the meeting point since we were making good time. If you get him you’re in for a treat. Overall the day was great and the gardens are a must see. The Japanese garden was my favorite. All of your stress and cares go away and it’s just you and nature, soaking in the beauty around you. Read full review

We had an amazing experience touring Victoria Island with Discover Canada Tours. Victoria city is very clean and beautiful, while The Butchard Gardens are truly spectacular. Ian was our bus driver and he was the perfect tour guide. Knowled..geable, funny, and entertaining the whole day long. This tour is well organized and run like clockwork. Thanks so much to the staff who helped us plan before our trip, Rene who was an amazing tour guide and Bryson who followed up to make sure all was great. From the beginning when I was researching and choosing a company to go with, I could t..ell from their written descriptions and correspondence that professionalism and customer service is important. So I chose them despite the higher fees and Rene was so professional, kind and thoughtful - he tried to keep us laughing all day thru his silly jokes and his insight and tips throughout our activities - as well as his love and passion for his home country really shined thru. As noted in other reviews, is a long day and unexpected delays on the ferry made it even longer so I’d suggest planning ahead, bringing extra warm clothes and paying for enough parking if you park at Canada place but the whole experience was a great way to see so many beautiful parts of Victoria Island and the ferry ride was gorgeous. I loved Victoria and Butchart Gardens. Our tour guide Ben was so much fun and provided plenty of great commentary on Canadian history and culture throughout. The best part was having all the logistics handled: driving, ferries, tickets. I c..ouldn't have done everything we did on my own. Read full review
